Mid of 7th decade of 20th century manifested a spirited landmark in the development of Sujangarh, then a town in Churu district of Rajasthan. That was the time when families of Sujangarh were migrating to various cities in India and few of them landed in then Calcutta also in search of more earning opportunities and better lifestyle. For many among them, higher education was also one prime factor.
Although they left behind their ancestral homes, families and memories, there was always a longing to be socially connected with fellow Sujangarh-migrants. This augmented the need of a social platform where all Sujangarh Niwasi-Calcutta Prawasi could meet, develop and maintain durable bond.
The seed of creating Sujangarh Nagrik Parishad was sown in early 1965 when Late Hanumanbux ji Kanoi was felicitated by Sujangarh prawasis in Calcutta on being conferred with Padma Shri award by the then Government of India.
Some notable projects delivered in the past by the Parishad include constructing the Ashok Stambh, building Gandhi Chowk Sabha Manch, building and managing Sujangarh Nagrik Parishad School at Chapatia Baas -Saand Chowk and one school each at nearby Villages of Dungras and Guleria.
Other socially acclaimed projects improving the social local life are making available of Drinking Water at Sujangarh, relief to war-widows in 1965 and 1971, significant contribution to the development of Gaushalas at Sujangarh, various developmental ventures of medical facilities at local hospitals etc.
Providing scholarships, Internships and Vocational Training to meritorious students, and providing Medical support to needy families is another zone of service which we take up on regular basis.
The Parishad celebrated its Silver Jubilee Year in 1990- 1991 and further it's Golden Jubilee year in 2015.

Shri Babulalji Dugar drew the Memorandum of Association of Sujangarh Nagrik Parishad and it was registered with West Bangal Societies Registration Act,1961 on 16th July, 1965. A unit took birth with very high passion and grand hopes to better the life of everyone around.
Shri Satyanarayan Ji Khaitan was chosen to be the first honorary president and Shri Madanlall Ji Lahoti took the honorary chair of first secretary of the Parishad.
Since then, its close to 60 years and the Parishad has continuously kept engaging in various philanthropic , social and cultural activities and contributed immensely in the development of our motherland - Sujangarh.
Untiring efforts by Shri Girdharimal ji Lodha made it possible for Sujangarh Prawasis to celebrate the joyful and memorable moments on 7th February, 1965.
To build a socio-economic, religious and academic platform for everyone connected with Sujangarh with a service motto of bettering life around.
